Board and Finance Committee volunteers needed

The Board of the Forestdale Fire District is in need of residents of the District who are willing to serve your community.

We currently have a position open on our finance committee.  We are looking for someone with a business, finance and/or accounting background that is willing to attend one meeting a month to assist in reviewing the financial transactions and creating financial recommendations for the Board of Trustees.

The District is also looking for a new Board member. Trustees of the District shall be appointed as provided by Alabama Statues. The current law states that trustees shall be appointed by the governing body of the county. The number of Board Members shall be as established by the Statutes which is currently set at 5. The qualifications of the Board Members shall be as established by law which is currently a registered voter within the boundaries of the district. Trustees serve a five-year term if appointed at the beginning of a term by the Jefferson County Commission. If a trustee is appointed after a term has started, the period of term will end on the original end date of that term.
